gut

Hog gut - sausage casing - is a wonderfully versatile material. Used by the Eskimo peoples to make water repellant coats and pants, gut can be used like cordage and like sheets of material.

Most of Judy's gut work is 3-D, but some new stuff is heading into the 2-D plane. It's all fun!

Lace Wings: hickory branch, gut.

Found a bunch more gut in the freezer than I thought I had.

Should keep me busy for a while.

Check out some of the gut pieces that were exhibited in Denver.

The Deeper You Look: gut sheets, birch bark sheets, branch.
Quilted gut sample: gut sheets, thread, scraps of natural dyed cloth and mud cloth.
Tried knitting gut - slippery stuff!
Knitted gut turns out nicely - have to work on my evenness in knitting!
Willow and gut.
Layers of gut inside and out; willow twined first to hold it in place.
