Jack and Judy headed to the Outer Banks again this year to enjoy the hospitality and conviviality - plus sailing and surf - of the Eiswerth family and their friends.
First stop was at Tom's place in Ashland for an overnight stay - it really helps to break up the trip. Tom's Brian and family - Rachel, Sydney and Sam - were there to welcome the travelers. Cheryl and her family had to head out just minutes before Jack and Judy arrived - meeting Bill and new Sarah were missed!

Some sights as we passed Newport News and headed towards NC.

Playtime on the Outer Banks! We missed Ernesto but saw remnants in the high water along the road and the pounding surf.

LOTS of friends came the first week - so many that a second house was rented for the weekend. There were bodies everywhere when it came time to sleep. There were also hungry bodies everywhere when it came time to eat! Most of the friends left at the close of the holiday weekend.

Along with all the two-legged bodies (around 27, I think), there were also 4 four-footed ones having a blast playing in the water. Each dog tried to outdo the others in the amount of attention they received.

Judy walked the beach every day, collecting sights and sounds and shells of the ocean and shore. No picture taking happened on those excursions, unfortunately for you, but the walks were grand regardless of the weather of the day.

Rich Eiswerth brought his kites out one day for some stunt flying. The kayaks and sailboats were used when the winds were appropriate.

Rich sent more pictures of the action at the beach. And Jeff sent a link to his Yahoo pictures pages full of OBX2006 photos.
Headed home from a very relaxing week at the beach.
